EIS in the News: Another Ocoee Hotel to be Razed, Redeveloped

Orlando Business Journal– Now that Ocoee’s old Colony Plaza is a memory, another hotel is getting ready to bid farewell to the community later this month. The owner of the 110-room Sabal Hotel on the northeast corner of Colonial Drive and Maguire Road plans to close its doors on April 10 – including the Perkins Restaurant on property – and then will tear down the building to create a new retail development totaling about 12,000 square feet.

Nick Barbato of Equity Investment Services is handling leasing of the property and said he’s targeting a number of potential users. “We’re going retail across the board, cellphone users, vitamin users, automotive repair or service, and more,” Barbato told OBJ. “But restaurants are the main goal.
